Our farm

The Elsbichlhof

The total cultivated area of approx. 20 ha is divided into about 10 ha of meadows and steep slopes, which are mowed 2 or 3 times, the rest is wooded. Our fields are grazed exclusively by our own farm animals.

For a long time, the cows were milked at the Elsbichlhof and the milk was delivered to the dairy, until Sepp and Anita decided in 2005 to switch from dairy cows to suckler cows and a loose housing operation.
Suckler cow husbandry offers the best conditions for natural and animal-friendly rearing of young animals. Our cows can spend some of the year on our fields together with their calves.

Our Cows

Animal welfare is very important to us. That's why our cattle are kept outside and in the fresh air as much as possible.

The herd of 8 suckler cows is made up of the “Tiroler Fleckvieh” cattle breed, which is typical of the region.

Up to 6 calves are born here every year. Some of them are allowed to spend their whole lives on our farm.

In addition to our cattle, there are lots of other animals that liven up the farm.

As a welcoming committee, our dog “Sina” looks forward to meeting new guests and familiar faces. The two cats “Susi” and “Strolchi” are the youngsters in this respect.

Our farm is also supported by our ducks, chickens and the goats “Gina”, “Flocke” and “Chili”.

Of course, our guests are always welcome to experience and help shape the work on the farm.
